Hello and welcome! Congrats on your newest addition! I’m Kaleigh (wife to my cute hubby Jason and momma to our 3 kiddos) and I’m the owner of Kaleigh Turner Photography. I’m so excited that you found me, and because I’m so passionate about what I do, I can’t wait to talk motherhood with you.
With wedding photography, I talk quite often about legacies and heirlooms, and for those couples that decide having a family is the path for them, I'm a firm believer in maternity/newborn images being just as big of an heirloom as wedding images. You're collecting these memories to pass on someday, memories of big, monumental moments in your life, and it's beautiful. As a wife and momma of 3 myself, outside of wedding photography, this is something close to my heart. Providing you with heirlooms that will stand the test of time is so much more than just a job for me. It’s an honor that I can’t thank you for enough! I look forward to getting to know you!
I prefer to photograph newborns between 6-10 days of life, while they are still in the just-born, mushy, easily-posed phase. For those momma's that are breastfeeding, I like to wait until your milk is fully in (usually by day 4 or 5), and before 15 days at the latest. Because photographing a baby between 6-10 days old is best, please do not wait until your baby has been delivered to schedule your session. Session times can vary but usually last between 3 and 4 hours.
For maternity photos, I quite often tell people that having your maternity photos done isn’t for you...it’s for your children and grandchildren, and all of the future generations to come in your family. They’ll want to know what their mother and grandmother looked like during the months she carried them. I believe in those moments. Those moments that your grandchildren will ask you to describe in detail because they are anticipating their children's arrivals. As a mother myself, I also know what it’s like to need some time to just feel beautiful. I want you to experience a day just for you, and to feel amazingly beautiful while doing it!
